INTER-ACTIONS

INTER-ACTIONS is a dance company based in Heidelberg that explores the experience of contemporary dance through various projects bridging the relationship between audience and performance. The company is directed by the choreographer Edan Gorlicki and focuses on the development of:

– Edan Gorlicki’s artistic vision including projects and performances.
– The BUILDING-ACTIONS community outreach program bridging the potential connections between choreographic/dance practices and audiences of dance.
– Contribution to the local/regional professional dance community.

In close collaboration with diverse partner organisations and institutions INTER-ACTIONS is committed to an open, dialogue-based, working method with the aims of maintaining fluid relevance to the current socio-political and artistic climate demands – Meeting the needs of our audiences as well as the dance field as a whole.

STUDIO

The INTER-ACTIONS studio is a unique model of a co-working open studio space that supports the entire local and regional dance community. It is the central place for artistic exchange, the BUILDING-ACTIONS program and producing new projects.

How it works:

– All activities taking place in the studio are not for profit. 
– All activities in the studio are free of charge. It is not possible to rent the studio for commercial use or educational purposes.
– It is not possible to charge money for any activities taking place in the studio. 
– It is not possible to organise an official performance or event for paying audiences. 
– All public activities like classes, workshops and/or presentations are part of the BUILDING-ACTIONS outreach program and purely meant for connecting local public with the artists and the artistic work being developed in the studio. 
– Artists using the studio may be required to teach a public movement-research class as part of the BUILDING-ACTIONS outreach program on Thursday evenings from 19:00 – 20:00. Artists will not be paid for these classes – they are meant to connect the audience with the work of the artists function as a way of giving back to the community. 
– When booking time in the studio, it is possible that your booking will be rescheduled or cancelled up to 2 weeks in advance if somebody higher in the priority list needs the studio for that time. 

Who can use the studio? – Priority list:

  1. Local professional choreographers / movement-based artists who have a project to work on or performance to rehearse for.
  2. Local professional choreographers / movement-based artists who need space for their own research, artistic development or personal use.
  3. Local amateur groups or individuals who need a space to practice for a project or performance.
  4. Regional professional choreographers / movement-based artists who have a project to work on or performance to rehearse for.
  5. Regional professional choreographers / movement-based artists who need space for their own research, artistic development or personal use.
  6. National/international professional choreographers / movement-based artists who have a project to work on or performance to rehearse for.
  7. National/international professional choreographers / movement-based artists who need space for their own research, artistic development or personal use.
